In this guide, we will demonstrate how to easily customize your shipping information template with custom fields, streamlining your freightprint data management. Follow these three simple steps: enter, select, and save.
Start by clicking on your account name, which will redirect you to the settings page. On the left-hand menu, locate and select Customize Fields. Here, you will find the first field, which is mandatory yet customizable – the Carrier Equipment Type. This is where you can modify the dropdown menu of carrier equipment types.
To customize your carrier equipment types, simply add or remove options as needed, ensuring each entry is separated by a comma. Once you have tailored the dropdown to your liking, proceed to the fully customizable fields.
In the designated box, enter the title of your custom field and check the box next to it to select it. After making your selections, remember to click Save at the bottom of the page. If you need to add more fields, just click Add New Fields and repeat the process. Don’t forget to check for the banner at the top indicating Custom Fields Have Been Saved.
To ensure your changes have been applied correctly, click on the BOL template to preview how it will appear on your Bill of Lading (BOL). You will find your custom fields displayed prominently in the middle section. To see how it looks on your shipping information page, navigate back to your dashboard.
From the dashboard, click the three little dots next to any load you wish to edit, then select Edit Load. Proceed to the shipping information tab and scroll down about halfway down the page. Here, you will find the Equipment Type dropdown menu along with the custom fields you just added.
